Kerry had the lowest birth rate in the country last year.
That's according to data from the Central Statistics Office.
Last year, 1,485 babies were born in Kerry; 774 boys and 711 girls.
That gave Kerry a birth rate of 9.7 per 100,000 people, which was the lowest in Ireland.
The national birth rate was 11.2 per 100,000 last year.
874 babies or nearly 59% were born to parents who were married or in a civil partnership.
The average age for first time mothers in Kerry last year was 31.5 years and it was 33.5 years for all births.
138 women aged over 40 gave birth in the county last year and 21 mothers were under 20.
There were 1,187 deaths recorded in Kerry last year; 639 men and 548 women.
The most common cause of death was diseases of the circulatory system (365 deaths).
15 suicides were reported, with the majority (13) being male.
