A Kerry farm representative is pleading with dog owners to keep their pets on leads while out walking and tied up at home.
Francis Foley, who represents Kerry on the IFA Sheep Committee, was speaking following the death of a sheep in Castlegregory after a dog attack on Friday.
He says farmers don't want confrontations with dog owners, and says no one wants a situation where dogs have to be shot if they’ve gotten into where sheep are.
