A Kerry County Councillor is urging people to be kind to public representatives.
Fianna Fáil councillor Fionnán Fitzgerald says he's recently been subjected to intimidating and harassing text messages for over a week.
He tried to engage with the person and offered help, but says the stream of personal and abusive texts continued.
He says he will block the number.
Cllr Fitzgerald thinks this is happening because he’s a politician.
He believes it might be an effort to deter him from answering genuine calls, if he doesn’t recognise the number.
