A Kerry county councillor is calling on the HSE to explain what he calls the 'shocking' waiting lists for mental health support.
Cllr Michael Cahill made the call following the publication of recent waiting list figures for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAHMS) in Kerry and Cork.
Cllr Cahill says the executive needs to explain to children, teenagers, and their guardians in Kerry why they're forced to suffer the longest waiting lists in the country for mental health support.
The Fianna Fáil Councillor added that whatever resources are required to end this torment must be sought from the Department of Health and provided immediately.
