Recreational facilities owned by Kerry County Council had an accumulated deficit of over €2.7 million at the end of 2018, the last year for which accounts have been published.
The Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre had a deficit of €1.7 million, while Tralee Bay Wetlands had recorded losses of €987,000 (€987,235).
The figures are contained in Kerry County Council’s unaudited Annual Financial Statement for 2019.
The Tralee Regional Sports and Leisure Centre, which is jointly owned by the council and Kerry ETB, had a surplus of €39,000 (€38,887) at the end of 2018.
