A Kerry County Councillor is renewing her appeal for signage to be erected in Killarney National Park warning the public about ticks.

Independent Cllr Maura Healy-Rae was recently contacted by a constituent whose child was bitten by a tick in the park.

A listener also contacted Radio Kerry to say his four children were covered in ticks following a recent trip to Killarney National Park.

Cllr Maura Healy-Rae says the signage is not about scaremongering but educating the public about ticks and the dangers of Lyme disease:
