A Kerry councillor has raised concerns with the Education Minister about the viability of some school bus routes.

Cllr Norma Moriarty says the issue arose when Bus Éireann closed the portal on their website for parents wishing to register, after the capacity for post-primary students on buses was cut to 50%.

Bus Éireann says their school transport team is getting a large volume of queries, and they apologise for delays and assure all customers they’ll be responded to as soon as possible.

The family portal on their website is closed, but customers can contact the school transport office on 1850 836 611 or by emailing [email protected].

Waterville Fianna Fáil Cllr Norma Moriarty fears for some school bus routes next year, which won’t be registering enough numbers this year due to the portal being closed.
