A Kerry councillor is concerned the county is in a water supply crisis situation with the number of serious and repeated breaks.
Cllr Brendan Cronin, says continuous water breaks on the main supply pipe to Barleymount reservoir are getting progressively worse.
Cllr Cronin adds the resulting repeated water outages are seriously affecting households, tourism, business and farming customers from Aghadoe, Barleymount, Ballyhar, Faha, Listry, Rockfield and Milltown.
The Independent councillor has called on Kerry County Council's CEO, Moira Murrell, to request emergency funding from Irish Water for pipe replacement in affected areas.
Cllr Cronin says the situation must be addressed by Irish Water immediately ahead of the tourist season, reopening of business and period of warmer weather.
