A Kerry councillor is hoping the new Minister for Agriculture will support smaller and isolated farmers.
Cllr Dan McCarthy, who manages Kenmare Mart, says Charlie McConalogue was an excellent agriculture spokesperson for Fianna Fáil when he was in opposition.
The independent councillor called on the Minister to offer special supports for smaller dairy farmers, sheep farmers, suckler farmers and inshore fishermen.
