A Kerry comedian is calling for clarification as to why some drive-in events are allowed and others are not.
Bernard Casey was due to perform a live drive-in comedy gig as part of the INEC Arena’s Inside Out weekend on August 9th.
Gavan James was also due to perform at the INEC event on the same weekend, however both gigs have now been cancelled.
The Portmagee man says there’s no legislation for drive-in live music or comedy gigs, however, drive-in movie events are permitted under legislation and can continue to operate.
Bernard Casey says the past few months have been difficult for people in the industry, with many forced to cancel performances.
He wants the Government to provide guidance to enable them to put on shows safely and ensure the future of performing arts:
