Kerry Airport is to receive millions of euro in Government funding this year.
It's been announced that 21.3 million euro will be made available to regional airports in 2021.
The new five-year Regional Airports Programme has been established to help Ireland's smallest airports.
Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton has announced that Kerry, Donegal and Knock airports will be eligible to apply for funding under the programme, which has a budget of €21.3 million this year.
The Programme aims to help airports that handle less than 1 million passengers a year maintain regulatory compliance in the areas of safety and security.
Minister Naughton said the Government is committed to supporting airports while passenger numbers remain low and activity is suppressed due to Covid-19.
She also said that €32.1 million will be provided to support Cork and Shannon airports in 2021.
In addition, funding will be made available to encourage airports to reduce emissions and to achieve carbon neutrality over the next five years.
