Kerry Airport hoping for Government funding to deal with impact of COVID-19
THE 2020 AGM of Kerry Airport Plc at Ballygarry House Hotel Tralee was presented to Shareholders via an online link. After a positive year in 2019, CEO John Mulhern said the present loss of revenue at Kerry Airport is unprecedented, profound and directly resulting from travel restrictions, however John Mulhern is confident the Government is fully aware of the steep downward trajectory in the financial position at all Airports and will in due course announce industry specific financial measures to support us through the industry's continued ‘lockdown'. Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Hildegarde Naughton travelled to Kerry Airport last week.

Chief Executive of Kerry Airport, John Mulhern says he impressed upon her the need for additional funding for the facility for this and next year, to deal with the impact COVID-19 has had on it.

The Farranfore base has remained open throughout the pandemic and kept on most staff, without seeking State subsidies.
