Kerry County Council has confirmed that the oil leak in Listowel to the River Feale has been traced and the source identified and resolved by its staff.
ENVA, the environmental pollution specialists, have been on site since this morning deploying absorbent booms to contain the oil at the outfall to the River Feale, extracting the remaining oil at the outfall.
ENVA also deployed protective booms at the water treatment plant intake with the assistance of the Civil Defence boat crew.
The Council says that the water intake at Scartleigh as well as the Dromin plant have been brought back into production.
