Kerry County Council has failed to acquire additional land to extend a West Kerry graveyard.
There are 53 plots remaining in Killiney Burial Ground in Castlegregory which, the council says, will facilitate a further eight to 10 years of burials before it reaches capacity.
The local authority says it will continue to look at available options.
