The jury has begun its deliberations in a Tralee murder trial.

Arnoldas Ivanauskas of 111 Parklands, Tralee, and originally from Lithuania, has denied murdering Dmitriy Hrynkevich in Tralee in 2015.

Arnoldas Ivanauskas of 111 Parklands, Tralee, and originally from Lithuania, is charged with murdering Dmitriy Hrynkevich.

The 24-year-old was found assaulted in Killeen Woods, Tralee on September 30th, 2015.

He died two days later in hospital.

Mr Hrynkevich, who was the third tallest man in Ireland, standing at seven feet six inches tall, was born in Russia but grew up in Killarney.

The case is being heard before Mr Justice Michael MacGrath at the Central Criminal Court sitting in the new Limerick courthouse on Mulgrew Street.

The jury of five women and seven men began their deliberations this morning.

Mr Ivanauskas is represented by Eimear Griffin of Padraig O’Connell Solicitors in Killarney, barrister Katie O’Connell and senior counsel Mark Nicholas.
