A severe shortage of building materials is impacting companies and consumers in Ireland and across Europe.
That's the view of Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune, who says urgent action is needed on increasing the supply of materials into the Irish market.

The Fine Gael MEP says building and construction firms are unable to fulfil orders due to the lack of materials, and firms and consumers are now facing higher costs and longer waiting times for their construction projects.

MEP Clune has written to the European Commission calling for it to address the situation, and says the Commission has pledged to help where it can.
