Ireland South MEP calls for better prices for farmers

An Ireland South MEP is calling on grocery retailers and co-ops to support farmers suffering due to weather conditions.

Billy Kelleher, who previously attended Pallaskenry Agricultural College, says retailers and co-ops need to address pricing with farmers in mind.

With more rain forecast this weekend, he says that retailers need to be more generous and that a short-term solidarity payment could be made to affected farmers to alleviate challenges.
