The introduction of electric shuttle buses to and from Killarney National Park from the town could be explored in the future.
Minister of State for Heritage Malcolm Noonan stated he is keen that sustainable mobility options are examined to reduce traffic pressures in the area.
Minister Noonan, who is a member of the Green Party, says he will work with all partners in Killarney to explore the provision of electric shuttle services from the town to the National Park.
He is also seeking improvements to encourage cycling, however, for now Minister Noonan is urging everyone to remain within 5km from their home under Level 5 restrictions.
