The local authority is seeking more information about how wastewater will be pumped uphill at a proposed campsite in West Kerry.
Mark, George and Zara Hussain are seeking planning permission for a development on a 6.7-acre site adjacent to Inch Beach, which has received the support of Fáilte Ireland.
Kerry County Council is requesting further information on the proposed development.
Retention permission is being sought for both an existing short-term stay camping site and renovation works to existing toilets and site at Inch.
Permission is being sought to construct an extension to the existing toilets and a camping site building, which will comprise a reception, campsite shop, staff rooms and associated rooms.
It's also proposed to construct an access road, eight glamping pods, additional camping spaces on a grass area, along with landscaping and site works.
Permission is also sought to construct two wastewater treatment tanks and decommission the existing septic tank on the 6.7-acre site (2.8-hectare site) across the road from Inch Beach.
Kerry County Council has requested further information on a number of points, including: confirmation that the wastewater pump intended for use can pump effluent to a system placed 40 metres above the collection tank; confirmation of a contingency plan in case the pump fails; and sightline distances.
The local authority says the applicants have six months to submit the further information.
