A farming organisation says it has been inundated with calls from concerned Kerry milk suppliers.
It follows the circulation of document purporting to outline details of the proposed Kerry Co-op joint venture deal with Kerry Group plc for its dairy business.
The ICMSA President, Pat McCormack says it is high time that clarity is brought to the issue and assurances given to milk suppliers.
Mr McCormack said the dairy sector is of huge importance in the Kerry catchment not just to farm families but to the wider economy.
He said suppliers are clearly saying the future structure must be sustainable and any decision must be approved by them in advance of concluding the deal.
