A housing charity plans to significantly increase the number of social housing units delivered in Kerry and Cork.
The Peter McVerry Trust strategic plan for the next four years was launched this week by Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
The trust states in the plan that it will deliver 1,200 social housing units across the country in that time, and the Irish Examiner reports that 179 of those will be delivered in Kerry and Cork by the end of next year.
The Peter McVerry Trust has delivered 54 units across the two counties already, and the further developments planned would see that expand to 233 by the end of 2022.
According to reports, around 70% of the new homes across Kerry and Cork will be one-bedroom apartments spread across multiple small-scale developments.
