A status yellow high temperature warning has been issued for Kerry.
Hot conditions are set to continue in the county for the coming days.
Met Eireann says the high temperatures are set to continue through this week with the yellow warning in effect until 9am on Friday.
Maximum daytime temperatures will range from 27 to 30 degrees and overnight values won’t dip below 17 to 20 degrees.
However, in coastal areas sea breezes develop the temperatures will be lower.
Meanwhile, Kerry Mountain Rescue is reminding the public of the dangers posed by the high temperatures in the uplands.
The team has been called out to a number of serious heat-related incidents in recent days in the MacGillycuddy Reeks, including one climber last night who was suffering from heat exhaustion and had to be airlift by the Shannon Coast Guard helicopter.
It is asking people to shorten their routes when temperatures are highest, bring plenty of water and sunscreen and cover up as much as possible.
Elsewhere, Teagasc says there is an orange level warning for forest fires and is urging anyone engaged in outdoor activity to exercise extreme caution; this risk phase is due to peak on Friday.
