Health and business courses at IT Tralee were in demand among CAO applicants this year.
The college is encouraging students still considering their options to look at the CAO Available Places facility, which is open until this Friday at 5pm.
Continuing students returned to IT Tralee this week with first year students undertaking a virtual orientation session before classes begin next Monday.
The President of IT Tralee says courses with strong employment prospects at the college garnered a lot of interest among students this year.
Dr Brendan O'Donnell said CAO applicants in 2020 faced an unprecedented year.
An increase in demand for courses in the health sector was reflected at IT Tralee with a jump in points for General and Mental Health Nursing; there was also a lot of interest in the Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician.
For the third year in a row, there was an increase in applications for business programmes and courses such as Early Childhood Care and Education, and Social Care continued to be popular.
IT Tralee urged students still considering their options to contact the college and use the CAO Available Places facility.
Places are still available on Culinary Arts, Environmental and Biological Studies, Coaching and Sports Performance, Inclusive Sport and Physical Activity and Civil and Environmental Engineering.
