A greenway to link Castleisland to the Tralee-Fenit pathway will be considered.
That's according to Kerry County Council, which was responding to a motion from Fine Gael councillor Bobby O'Connell at a recent municipal district meeting. Councillor O'Connell had asked that the council, along with relevant agencies, spearhead and develop a greenway from Castleisland to Ballymac, through Ballyseedy and on to the Tralee-Fenit Greenway.
The council said proposals for the expanded development of greenways are under active consideration, particularly where there are dedicated routes along old railway lines. Councillor O'Connell noted the work on this proposal by Fianna Fáil councillor Fionnán Fitzgerald.
