Fire services are continuing to battle the blaze in Killarney National Park, over 40 hours after they first arrived at the scene.
Kerry County Council says the Chief Fire Officer, along with senior figures from the Kerry Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Service, are co-ordinating the response.
Crews from Killarney, Sneem and Killorglin remain at the scene in Muckross, and are being assisted by an Air Corps helicopter.
Radio Kerry understands some fires in the lower areas of the Park have been dealt with, but significant fires in higher areas continue to pose a problem.
