Fifty bags of rubbish were collected during a clean up on Banna Beach on Saturday.
It was organised by Banna Coastcare and was attended by more than fifty volunteers.
It was the largest turnout since these clean-ups began in 2013, with the biggest haul of terrestrial litter collected to date.
Rachel Geary of Banna Coastcare says the remains of campfires were found in the dunes and carparks, adding they were littered with beer bottles and cans, sleeping bags and chairs.
She praised those who helped out, adding their efforts will help reduce marine litter.
