Fianna Fáil councillor Mikey Sheehy is the new Mayor of the Tralee Municipal District.
Labour’s Terry O’Brien has been elected Deputy Mayor at the AGM of Tralee MD, which took place this morning in county buildings.
Mayor Sheehy was joined by his wife, Suzanne, and daughters, Roísín, Ailbhe, and Caragh, as well as extended family and friends.
The new mayor, who took over from councillor Johnnie Wall, was also elected chair of the HSE South South West Health Forum recently, and says health services in Kerry will be among his priorities.
Mayor Sheehy also believes the Tralee-Fenit Greenway will afford opportunities to so many local areas, but he believes it must include a link to Ardfert.
