Fianna Fáil councillor and election candidate Michael Cahill says he will be lobbying cabinet ministers to bring an end to an anomaly with the fuel allowance.
Cllr Cahill says the allowance income limit, €512 for a single person or €1,024 for a couple, makes absolutely no sense as the cost of heating is the same whether you’re alone or with a partner.
The Fianna Fáil councillor says this anomaly is being brought up with him in canvassing and it is unfair.
