The late Father Hickey will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and gentle manner.
That’s according to the Minister for Education and Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley, who was speaking after the passing of the Reverend Father Tom Hickey.
The retired parish priest in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh and formerly of Dingle passed away on Monday.
Minister Foley says Father Hickey was a gifted man, who shared his time and talent so generously with the communities he served and those with whom he worked.
She says he spent a lifetime organising and teaching drama throughout the county, winning numerous awards in a variety of drama competitions and Kerry was blessed to experience his giftedness and his genius.
Father Hickey will be laid to rest tomorrow (Thursday).
