€3 million in funding has been announced for LEADER projects in Kerry.
LEADER is a rural development programme, co-funded by the EU, which operates a locally-led approach to meeting the needs of communities and businesses.
The programme aims to support job creation, foster entrepreneurship and encourage rural communities to build on their existing strengths and assets.
Kerry TDs Brendan Griffin, Education Minister Norma Foley, and Danny Healy-Rae have welcomed the announcement of funding.
Minister Foley says this is very positive news and the funding will help invaluable community projects across Kerry.
