A Dublin man who embarked on an epic solo voyage from Norway last November has landed on Valentia Island.
Darragh Carroll left Norway in a traditional wooden boat named Ran to bring a fertility torch to the Hill of Uisneach; an ancient ceremonial site in Ireland's midlands.
During his voyage he travelled to the Shetland and Orkney Islands and had to spend two months living on his boat following a storm.
After mooring in Valentia, Darragh, who is a chef, will now continue on horse and cart to Westmeath hosting community outdoor cook-outs along the way to encourage people back to the wilderness.
