A report on the Dingle Peninsula says the area’s narrow economic base and limited graduate opportunities need to be addressed.
This is according to the study on the area’s demographic and socio-economic profile, which was commissioned by North, East and West Kerry Development. The report concludes that, in demographic and socio-economic terms, Corca Dhuibhne is weaker than Kerry as a whole, which points to a need to invest in the peninsula.
The changing needs of tourists and the need for year-round employment are among the areas noted in the report for further examination. It’s also noted that investment in broadband provision will be required for the peninsula to grow its economy and population.
