Department processing over 640 Kerry applications for back to school allowance

The Department of Social Protection says it is still processing 641 applications from Kerry for the back to school clothing and footwear allowance.

The once-off payment helps eligible families with the costs of clothing and footwear when children start or return to school.

The payment is €150 for children up to 11 years and €275 for those over 12 years.

The Department is currently working through 20,266 applications from around the country.

Those who may be eligible for the payment can still apply on mywelfare.ie before September 30th.
