A former Debenhams worker in Tralee says even though the picketing has ended, foundations have been laid to protect workers’ rights in the future.
Earlier today, former Debenhams workers voted to accept the offer of a three million euro training fund, following 406 days of picketing.
Debenhams announced the end of its Irish operations in April 2020, with the loss of around 1,200 jobs nationwide, 80 of which were in Manor West.
Patricia O’Sullivan, who picketed outside the Tralee store with former colleagues, says although the demonstrations have ended, they will continue to fight for workers’ rights.
