It’s understood a deal is very close to being struck for a well-known north Kerry hotel.
The Golf Hotel in Ballybunion failed to sell at a BidX1 auction for a second time today, despite its guide price being reduced by €200,000 to €650,000.
The 98-bedroom hotel has two bars, a take-away, a nightclub and a gym; it closed in February 2016 with the loss of around 80 full-time seasonal jobs.

However, selling agent Gary O'Driscoll has told Radio Kerry that there are still interested parties in the property and he says a deal is “very close” to being done.
