Court records show a prisoner started a fire in Tralee courthouse last year.
According to documents released to thestory.ie under the Freedom of Information Act, the Courts Service recorded an incident in the court’s cells in February 2020.
A prisoner set a plastic tray and item of clothing on fire in a cell.
A prison officer extinguished the fire with a foam extinguisher, which subsequently had to be replaced.
The incident was not reported to the Health and Safety Authority.
