Kerry County Councillors are to meet this morning to consider the Local Property Tax rate for 2021.
It’s an annual self-assessed tax charged on all residential properties in the country.
Each council can vary the basic rate by a maximum of 15%, and last year the base rate in Kerry increased by 10%.
Last week it was revealed that COVID-19 will result in a drop of €10.6 million in local income for Kerry County Council.
In a letter to councillors, Chief Executive Moira Murrell asked them to maintain the LPT at this year’s level when they meet this morning.
