A Kerry County Councillor is seeking clarity around when the Central Pharma facility is to come into production in Tralee.
Fine Gael councillor Jim Finucane is calling on the IDA to provide further information around the opening of the facility, which is to be located in the Kerry Technology Park in Tralee.
He raised the issue at the recent meeting of the Tralee Municipal District.
Cllr Jim Finucane is also seeking clarity on when people will be employed at the Tralee Central Pharma facility.
He claims he knows of people who have applied for jobs there, but says they never heard anything back.
Cllr Finucane says the information being provided is very sparce.
In response to his motion, IDA Ireland say it and Central Pharma remain in contact and engaged in relation to their ongoing plans for the Tralee facility.
They say Central Pharma is progressing with the necessary regulatory approvals for the facility with the HPRA and continued fit out of the facility to ensure it’s ready for production.
The company are also currently in the process of recruiting a site lead and warehouse manager for their facility in Tralee with further hires also planned.
The company are inviting applications for both of these roles currently before the closing date of April 30th.
Meanwhile, Cllr Jim Finucane also sought an update in relation to the BorgWarner plant in Tralee; he wants to know if it will be put on the public market or is being sold privately.
