A Tralee councillor who organises an annual commemoration of Kerry men who died during the two World Wars believes the council should be running the event.
Since 2011, Independent councillor Sam Locke has organised the annual ceremony at the monument to the Royal Munster Fusiliers at Ballymullen in Tralee.
This year’s event will take place in Ballymullen at 12 noon on Sunday, which is Remembrance Sunday.
The Royal Munster Fusiliers were a British Army regiment which had its headquarters in Tralee.
Cllr Locke hopes that Kerry County Council will take over the annual event.
