Kerry County Council says the situation in Dingle will be monitored in consultation with gardaí.
Large crowds were dispersed by gardaí in the town over the Bank Holiday weekend, after they had gathered mainly on Strand Street, where the council recently installed new seating.

Some locals have criticised the installation of the new seating.

One resident contacted Radio Kerry, claiming residents had to endure uncontrolled drinking, public urination, roaring and shouting by large groups.
They said the council should have anticipated anti-social behaviour at an unsupervised and unstaffed venue.

The council says it has carried out extensive works in the municipal district to facilitate an outdoor summer, in line with the request from government.
This includes additional outdoor seating, as well as widened footpaths, additional bins and enhanced litter collection and cleaning routines.

The council adds it expects all public outdoor facilities would be respected and that individuals would exercise responsible behaviour when using such facilities, particularly taking into account residents living in the locality.
The council says it will continue to provide facilities for locals and visitors alike, and its enforcement officers were on duty throughout the county this weekend.
