Kerry County Council is owed €3.8 million in unpaid construction bonds.
The payment of bonds is often a condition to the granting of planning permission for larger developments to offset costs such as paving and lighting.
As of August 2020, the council had 66 bonds lodged relating to housing estates, with claims totalling €3.8 million.
CEO Moira Murrell says construction bonds are reviewed on a regular basis and substantial progress was made in resolving outstanding bond claims in recent years.
During the period 2019-August 2020, the council secured over €1.2 million in bonds, which had been held by Allied Irish Bank.
