A new member has been formally co-opted onto Kerry County Council.
Kerry Independent Alliance councillor John O’Donoghue took up his seat on the council this morning.
He is a primary school teacher from Muckross, and is replacing his uncle former councillor Michael Gleeson on Kerry County Council.
The 37-year-old has been chairman of the Kerry Independent Alliance for the last two years.
Cllr John O’Donoghue says it’s an honour to take the seat and told the meeting he had great respect for the work done by Kerry County Council.
His colleagues and council management congratulated him and offered him any support he may need as he takes on this new role.
