A Kerry County Councillor is calling for carpark serving one of the county's most popular visitor attractions to be made bigger.
Cllr Maura Healy-Rae said the car park at Torc Waterfall was inadequate in size.
The Independent councillor was speaking at the recent meeting of Killarney Municipal District.
Cllr. Maura Healy-Rae said the Torc Waterfall car park fails to cater to all visitorS, resulting in cars being parked on public roads.
She said this is limiting road use for other vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, resulting in a dangerous situation.
She called for action to be taken before the next tourist season.
In response, Kerry County Council said the carpark is under remit of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
The NPWS informed the council that given the car park's location within a Special Area of Conservation there is no potential to increase the facility's size.
Kerry County Council said it will highlight the issue with the NPWS again.
