Developing and maintaining cycleways could have a positive economic impact on Kerry.
That’s according to Kerry Independent Alliance councillor Michael Gleeson.
He is calling for cycle lanes to be preserved to ensure safety for cyclists.
He claims overgrown grass is resulting in the width of some lanes being reduced, while water and dirt are pooling on others.
Cllr Gleeson also says some surfaces are rough and in need of work.
The Kerry Independent Cllr believes that cycling could become the main way for tourists to experience what the county has to offer, if they are in good condition.
