Radio Kerry's recent Celebrate4Life appeal has raised a total of €133,500 for 4 Kerry charities.
The appeal has received a significant boost as a result of a €50,000 donation.
The Celebrate4Life appeal was run by Radio Kerry in conjunction with the Kerry Hospice Foundation, Recovery Haven, Comfort for Chemo and the Kerry Cancer Support Group.
Each of the charities was facing substantial funding challenges as a result of COVID-19.
The appeal was launched with a €10,000 donation by the board of Radio Kerry and listeners throughout the county and beyond made online and text donations over a two week period.
By the middle of August over €80,000 had been raised which included a €20,000 contribution by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous.
Tralee based company CareMed Direct has made a further €50,000 donation to recognise and support the work of the 4 charities.
The charities say they are hugely grateful and extremely humbled by the generosity shown towards them throughout the appeal.
Radio Kerry CEO Tim O'Keeffe said the station was delighted with what the appeal has achieved in not alone the money raised but, also, with the profile the charities have gained.
He said that all involved are eternally grateful to everyone who subscribed and want to pay a special thank you to CareMed Direct for their extremely generous donation of €50,000 and the €20,000 donor.
Mr O'Keeffe said the donations will help to ensure the availability of the wonderful services provided by the charities to members of our families and friends.
