Organisations could use vacant properties around Kerry to bring footfall and jobs back into town centres.
That’s the view of Sinn Féin councillor Deirdre Ferris, who is calling on Kerry County Council to engage with organisations, including the HSE or ETB.
Cllr Ferris says all greenspace on the UHK site is used and any expansion would have to be in the town.
The council is examining vacant and derelict properties around the county with a view to engaging with property owners regarding redevelopment and potential uses.
It will engage with both the public and private sector to discuss the potential for both commercial and residential developments in such sites.
