There are calls for amenities and tourist attractions in North Kerry to be better promoted.
Sinn Féin councillor Robert Beasley called for the Wild Atlantic Way to promote the attractions in the north of the county, along with the traditional seaside resorts on the Kerry coastline.
He raised the issue at the monthly meeting of Kerry County Council.
Cllr Robert Beasley says with the Tralee to Fenit and Listowel greenways soon opening, the attractions in the north of the county need to be promoted.
He says he worries the less well-known areas are not being properly marketed and aren't getting the recognition they deserve.
The Sinn Féin councillor says he wants all places along the Wild Atlantic Way promoted and listed in brochures, adding the only way that tourists, both domestic and international, will visit is if they know what is on offer there.
In response, Kerry County Council stated a detailed marketing plan is being prepared for the greenways under construction.
This will highlight the greenways themselves, points of interest along the routes, the wider attractions in the area, the coastal reports and blue flag beaches.
In addition, the council says the preparation of the Cliff Coast Destination Experience Development Plan for North Kerry and West Clare is underway and this will include a marketing strategy for the area.
A presentation of this work will be made to elected members by Fáilte Ireland over the coming weeks.
