A Kerry County Councillor is calling on the Department of Agriculture to stop sending forms to all farmers regarding their TB status.
Independent councillor Dan McCarthy brought a motion to the Kenmare Municipal District meeting, asking for fellow councillors to support his motion.
He sought for the MD to write to the department to scrap the form that issued to all farmers regarding their TB status, regardless of incidence rates.
Councillor McCarthy says the next step will be for the form to be produced at every mart, meaning farmers who've had historical cases will be adversely affected, despite having TB-free herds now.
The members of the MD supported his call to write to the Department of Agriculture.
