There’s a call for a text system that allows people to report incidents anonymously to gardaí to be rolled out in Listowel as soon as possible.
Sinn Féin Cllr Tom Barry raised the issue at the recent Listowel Municipal District meeting calling for the council to work with the gardaí on the See Something, Say Something campaign.
The initiative is in operation in Tralee and Killarney and allows the public to report incidents of suspicious behaviour to gardaí anonymously by text.
Council management say they’ve made contact with gardaí, and are awaiting a revised roll out date of the See Something, Say Something campaign in Listowel.
