Bord Bia says on-site farm audits are to resume in Kerry, where possible.
Due to COVID-19, on-farm inspections were suspended in March and in late April a remote audit process was rolled out; over 10, 000 remote inspections have been carried out.
Farmers who are part of the Sustainable Assurance Schemes for beef, dairy and lamb will have the option of an on-farm or remote inspection.
If an on-farm audit is successful, farmers will be certified for 18 months compared to 12 months certification for a remote inspection.
Bord Bia says safety of farmers and its staff is the main priority and all auditors will complete a training programme.
